2 Greenwich Philanthropists Charged With Financial Crimes: PD
A Cos Cob couple was arrested on a warrant out of Louisiana charging them with financial crimes, according to police.

GREENWICH, CT — Two Greenwich philanthropists were arrested Tuesday on a warrant out of Louisiana charging them with financial crimes, police said. According to a statement from Greenwich Police, the department was contacted by the Louisiana Department of Justice Bureau, who requested officers serve warrants for Deadra Bastarache, 61, and Mark Pucci, 70, both of Cos Cob.
Officers arrived at the pair's address around 8 p.m. and advised them of the warrant before arresting them.
The warrant charged both Bastarache and Pucci with theft of over $25,000, money laundering and criminal conspiracy, police said. Bail was set at $650,000 each, which they were unable to post.

According to the Greenwich Time, Bastarache and Pucci are married and are founders of the Before It's Too Late! Foundation, which supports suicide prevention. Bastarache has a background in finance and was set to attend a women-in-business event in Arkansas next year as a panelist.
