GREENWICH, CT — First it was a two-hour delay, then a three-hour delay, and now the Greenwich Public Schools District has decided to close for the day entirely.

Icy conditions continue to impact the area on Friday. The school district was notified around 10 a.m. that some roads in town continue to be hazardous due to dipping temperatures and accumulating ice.

According to the National Weather Service, rain, freezing rain, and sleet is expected to continue throughout the day with a high near 37. Wind chill values are expected to be between 20 and 30.

Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch is possible, with sleet accumulation of less than one inch.
