2 Officers Injured In Forgery Arrest Of Greenwich Man, Cops Say
The suspect tried to run from police but was tackled by officers.

GREENWICH, CT — A 19-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on multiple forgery and identity theft charges following a routine traffic stop Tuesday evening, but his apprehension resulted in a scuffle in which two Greenwich police officers suffered minor injuries, according to authorities.
Arrested on 32 counts each of third-degree identity theft, third-degree forgery and other financial charges was Glen Lamont Ragin, of Harold Avenue. He was additionally charged with assaulting a police officer (2 counts), resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
According to Greenwich police, Ragin was driving near Weaver Street and Reynolds Place at about 6 p.m. when he was pulled over for busted tail lights.

During the traffic stop, police found marijuana and "numerous fraudulent credit cards" in Ragin's possession, but as they went to take him into custody, he allegedly tried to run away.
A foot chase ensued which led to officers tackling Ragin and a struggle on the ground before officers were able to get him handcuffed. During the struggle, two Greenwich police officers suffered minor injuries.

Ragin was held in lieu of bail of $150,000 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 8.
