3 Greenwich Firefighters, Lieutenant To Receive Promotions

GREENWICH, CT — Three members of the Greenwich Fire Department are scheduled to receive promotions during a ceremony Friday.

According to Fire Chief Joseph McHugh, the following members of the department will receive promotions:

  • Lt. Thomas Lenard promoted to deputy chief of training
  • Firefighter Steven Heaney promoted to lieutenant
  • Firefighter Kevin Coyner promoted to lieutenant
  • Firefighter Michael Varinelli promoted to lieutenant

A promotion ceremony will be held Friday at the department's headquarters, located on Havemeyer Place, at 10:30 a.m.

According to a post on the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Facebook page, the ceremony will be closed to immediate family and members of the department only, in accordance with coronavirus safety guidelines.

"If you see these members," the post reads, "congratulate them on their hard work, dedication and upcoming promotions."
