"Since becoming Chief in November of 2011, Chief Heavey has had the pleasure of promoting over
twenty officers," wrote officials in a statement. "Chief Heavey said that the officers who were promoted today have worked hard to earn these positions."

In addition, the department will hire a new officer next month. Steven Frano will be sworn in as a member of the department on Monday, April 2, during a ceremony in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 11:00 a.m. After his swearing in, he will enter an 18-month probationary period.
