4 Charged With Stealing Mail: Greenwich PD

Police said officers also located a device commonly used to take mail from postal boxes.

GREENWICH, CT — Police said four men accused of stealing mail were arrested early Monday morning in the Riverside area of Greenwich. According to an arrest report, the four men were stopped by police at about 2:50 a.m. for driving without lights on.

Police said the men were found to have other people's mail in their possession. After further investigation, officers also located a device commonly used to take mail from postal boxes.

One of the men, Mohamed M. Bah, 21, of Bronx, N.Y., provided officers with "false and misleading" information about himself during the investigation in an attempt to conceal his true identity, police said.

Bah was charged with possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at third-degree ID theft, conspiracy and interfering with an officer, police said.

Amadou Diallo, 19, of Stamford was charged with possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at third-degree ID theft and conspiracy, police said.

Hassane Togo, 20, of Bronx, N.Y., was charged with possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at third-degree ID theft and conspiracy, police said.
