4th Generation Resident, Marla Martello, Finds Success Serving and Representing Greenwich

This article is spotlighting Marla Martello, a local resident who represents the Greenwich ideals: family, hard work, fitness and boating!

Marla Martello, lifelong resident of Greenwich, is welcomed to the Daigle and Travers Agency in Darien. You may recognize Marla from Sam’s Wine and Liquor in Old Greenwich, which she and her husband John have owned for the past 34 years. Though she has continued to be a presence on Sound Beach Ave, 17 years ago, Marla decided to expand her career by entering the insurance world.

Marla initially worked in office management and accounting but quickly fell in love with the challenges and rewards that the insurance field offered. Within two years of her new career she sought a CT Producer License. “My idea of success is having peace of mind and caring for my family, and I’ve made a life’s work of providing that for others” said Marla, “What could be more rewarding than building bonds and being the trusted expert a client seeks to protect their family and assets?” In 2016, after having spent a year of nights and weekends studying, Marla earned a CISR designation which she marks as a crowning moment in her customer service vocation.

Marla loves Greenwich, staying true to her roots, she raised her family a half of a block from the home she grew up in. Her two daughters and six grandkids stayed local as well (Riverside and Norwalk), making them a six generation Greenwich family. Marla is a member of the Mianus River Boat and Yacht Club in Cos Cob. An inveterate boater, she is at home on the Long Island Sound where you will find her and John coasting in the Dream Chaser, their 42’ Chris Craft. When Marla isn’t on the water, you are likely to find her boxing at the local gym!

Marla wanted to be with a company where she could represent the town she loves while bringing a service to her neighbors that she could stake her family's name to. She sought out a position at Daigle and Travers having long been familiar with the agency’s reputation of having a welcoming environment of erudite professionals. Earlier this summer, D&T gladly brought Marla aboard as an Account Executive, boasting, "We are proud to have one of Greenwich’s finest to represent the ideals and high standards of Fairfield County."

The Daigle & Travers team of Fairfield County insurance experts offers 34 years of insurance expertise and extensive knowledge of personal and business insurance programs. For more information, you can visit daigletravers.com or call Marla at 203-655-6974.
