GREENWICH, CT — Connecticut resident Amy Lappos is a small business owner, a political activist, and the woman who says that then-Vice President Joe Biden touched her inappropriately at a fundraiser for Congressman Jim Himes (D-4th) in Greenwich in 2009.

The story with Biden, originally reported by the Hartford Courant, has received national attention, because it is the second allegation of awkward, uncomfortable behavior by the long-time politician who is expected to announce his candidacy for president sometime in the coming weeks.

Biden has not directly responded to Lappos' allegation, but he has put out a statement that he has always believed that his interactions with people in such situations were proper.

She is a Milford resident. While the incident with Biden in 2009 occurred at a fundraiser in Greenwich, she does not live there as some media outlets initially reported.

She studied Campaign Strategy at Woman's Campaign School at Yale University, which is a "nonpartisan, issue-neutral political campaign-training program" dedicated to increasing "the number and influence of women in elected and appointed office in the United States and around the globe."

She proudly says that she is a Feminist. In addition to an "Ally. Equalist. Activist. #AlicePaul. Hillaryite. Deadhead. Phish Chick. Tree Hugger," according to her Facebook page.

She owns a grant-writing business called MOMA Grants, and has more than a decade's worth of experience writing proposals for grants from federal, state and private foundations.

She is not afraid of calling out members of the media (such as Norah O'Donnell of "CBS This Morning") if she believes their reporting is off-base:

Lappos recounts the incident with Biden in the interview below from WTNH-TV. She was an employee at News 8 for several months in 2006, according to the station.
