Driving a Corvette and drinking.from a Heineken bottle apparently wasn't a good mix for a driver who Greenwich Police say was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Wayne M. DeFelice, 50, of 360 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, NY, was arrested shortly before 4 p.m. May 12 after a patrol officer saw him swerving within a lane on West Putnam Avenue and cross the double yellow line when he turned onto Brookside Drive, according to police.
Police were looking for a white Corvette Stingray whose driver was reportedly driving erratically and seen drinking from a Heineken bottle, according to police who received an anonymous tip. Police said DeFelice admitted to having three drinks. He failed field sobriety tests and several empty beer bottles were inside the Corvette, police said.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to signal and failing to drive right. DeFelice posted a $250 bond and was scheduled to appear May 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
