AARP Foundation To Offer Free Tax Assistance at Greenwich Library

The program will be available on Saturdays.

Free tax assistance from the AARP Foundation will be available at the Greenwich Library on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The program will start this Saturday — Feb. 7 and continue through April 11.

This year, tax assistance will be held in a new location on the first floor of the Peterson Wing near the Local History Collection. Additional assistance hours are available at Greenwich Town Hall. Those seeking assistance should bring a photo I.D. along with all income information, any W-2s and last year’s tax return.

There will be no tax assistance on April 4, Easter weekend.

Because of IRS cutbacks, Greenwich Library’s allocation of hardcopy tax materials will be significantly reduced. IRS seasonal staffing has also been cut making access to IRS phone help more limited than in previous years.
