Act 3 56 Days
Awoke early and got started early despite this being a Saturday. I was the second car in line for parking on the driveway next to Second Congregational Church. My Early Risers meeting beckoned. Open the door. Step inside and the room is set up with coats on one or two chairs, no one present. An “Ah, hah” moment. I am able to take two quick pictures of the empty room with all of the chairs in place, I intend to send it to Grapevine. Makes me think of Jeff who set up chairs every day for over 1,000 days as a newbie. That is service and that is commitment to a sober life.
Followed with a trip along with Tom, a pedestrian, to Shop & Stop. Principle item needed was wood for the fireplace and they are well stocked now. Added a search for disposable hot cups and lids, which are a hard item to find. CVS and Staples, for example, carry them, but never or rarely have them in stock. Here at Shop & Stop, the service folks who do give real service directed me to Aisle 5. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a multitude of choices. With lids. Without lids. Low quantity. High quantity. Multiple brands. Disney of the hot cup world. My cup has literally run over. A treasure.

Today will be some measuring and picture taking to keep the pipeline full as w empty the house. Our classic steamer trunk drew a bevy of customers. We sold, perhaps too cheaply, to the first in line. For the most part, any money received is helping us unload things we would end up throwing away, giving to a charity, or spending on for moving and storage. Yuck. Minimalist remains the goal.
On the location front, it is apparent that affordable housing will be available wherever we decide to put our heads down. It is beginning to sink in that Shirley and I have spent 37 years here in Greenwich, well over 50% of our adult life and over 90% of our married life. No wonder it is considered one of the big ones on life events that are traumatic. We are moving on.
