Altercation Ensues After Riverside Man Tries To Drive Drunk: Cops

He got into a verbal argument with someone trying to stop him.

GREENWICH, CT — A 32-year-old Riverside man was arrested on charges of second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace on June 18 after he allegedly got into an altercation while drunk when someone tried to stop him from driving, according to Greenwich police.

Arrested following the 7:30 p.m. incident was Brian C. Walsh, of Bonwit Road. Officers were called to an unnamed residence in eastern Greenwich on a report of an argument between two people.

"The argument started when the victim observed that [Walsh] was intoxicated and was attempting to leave the residence in a vehicle," wrote Greenwich police in a statement. The argument flowed outside with the victim trying to stop Walsh from leaving, and the fight moved from the driveway, to the rear of the home and back to the front and then back inside, according to police.

"At some point [Walsh] grabbed the victim on both sides of the head," wrote police.

Walsh was released after posting bond on bail of $1,000 and was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 19.
