American Horses: There is no time

Horse slaughter may return to the US very soon.

A few months ago I was told by the editor of a regional horse magazine

that my letter concerning the plight of American horses would not be

of interest to her readers. Well, that was unfortunate.

Horses are not food, the domestic horses are companion animals most
frequently put up at auction where they are purchased by kill buyer.
Wild horses are the American Icon. However, there is a good chance
that horse slaughter will return to the US. At this time American
horses are cruelly transported to Canada, Mexico and Japan to be
slaughtered for their "meat."

Horse slaughter has only been prohibited in the US because of the language
that defunds the inspection of horse slaughter plants. That may come
to an end under the Trump administration and it may come to an end
very soon. People must let their voices be heard. Write your Congress
people, not only about the Appropriations bill but about the Interior
Department's plan to murder over 100,000 American Horses, not only
those that have been rounded up buy others running free. And the Safe
Act, HR 113, which would prohibit the transport and slaughter of our
horses within and out of our borders.

Pleasenote that there are some semi-graphic photos in this video. But then
again, horse slaughter is graphic, inhumane and horrific.
