Greenwich PD Announces 2026 Youth Citizen's Police Academy

The four-day program is designed to give participants an overview of the department and careers in law enforcement.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department will host its 2026 Youth Citizen’s Police Academy from June 23 to June 26, offering a four-day program designed to give participants an overview of the department and careers in law enforcement.

The program will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

According to the department, the academy is open to Greenwich residents or children of Town of Greenwich employees who will be entering sixth, seventh or eighth grade in September 2026.

Participants will receive instruction in topics including an introduction to policing, patrol operations, forensics and crime scene investigations. The program also includes a ride on the police boat.

The academy will incorporate physical training and demonstrations, with participants learning self-defense techniques and beginning each day with physical agility training. Demonstrations are planned from the K9 officer, Emergency Services Unit, Bomb Squad, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.

The program will also include a beach day at Tod’s Point. The final day will be held at Camp Seton and will feature demonstrations, outdoor activities and a graduation ceremony.
