The Junior League of Greenwich (JLG) announced the success of its inaugural All Service Day, during which 45 members volunteered more than 100 hours of service across Greenwich in a single day of community impact.

Held on Wednesday, April 15, the initiative brought JLG members to nonprofit organizations and community partners throughout town, where they participated in hands-on service projects supporting children, families, and local organizations. Following the success of the day, the Junior League plans to
make All Service Day an annual event and hopes to invite broader community participation in future years.

“In one day, we made an important, profound impact with various organizations around Greenwich,” said Sammie Jacobs, President of the JLG. “It was truly a day our mission statement shined with leadership and action to better the lives of thousands of people while educating ourselves and meeting
new people with the same drive to help those in need.”

Throughout the day, JLG members prepared 380 sandwiches for children attending afterschool programs at the Boys & Girls Club, Barbara’s House, and Kids In Crisis, with ingredients generously donated by Whole Foods Greenwich and Neri’s Bakery Products of Port Chester. The organization also
distributed 3,000 diapers to local families through Mothers for Others, assisted Neighbor to Neighbor with gardening and preparations for its annual luncheon, provided an arts and crafts class for children at the Boys & Girls Club, and organized and cleaned the Junior League’s own attic space to better
support future community projects and donations.

Volunteers also reorganized a closet at The Rowan Center to help streamline its operations and prepared a YWCA Greenwich arts class as part of the organization’s Pathways to Healing paint therapy program, which supports women navigating challenges such as domestic abuse, addiction, loss, and other personal hardships.
