Greenwich's Sound Beach Community Band Seeks Musicians For 2026 Concert Season

The community band is open to instrumentalists ranging from middle school students to active and retired professional musicians.

GREENWICH, CT — The Sound Beach Community Band is inviting concert band musicians to join the ensemble for its 2026 performance season.

Founded in 1955, the community band is open to instrumentalists ranging from middle school students, by audition, to active and retired professional musicians.

Weekly rehearsals will be held in Greenwich from June 9 through Aug. 25. The band is under the musical directorship of Zachary Kampler.

The band’s 2026 performance schedule includes a USA 250th anniversary concert June 28 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, a pre-fireworks concert July 2 at Binney Park, and an Independence Day ceremony July 4 at Greenwich Town Hall.

Additional performances are planned for July 26 and Aug. 30 at Binney Park, a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony at Cos Cob Park, and a First Light performance Dec. 5 in Old Greenwich.

Organizers described the band as a relaxed environment for musicians to meet others and continue developing their musical skills.
