Important Update Issued On Glenville Corridor Project

First Selectman Fred Camillo on Friday issued an update on the ongoing infrastructure project.

GREENWICH, CT — First Selectman Fred Camillo on Friday issued an update on the ongoing Glenville Corridor improvement project, and signaled some good news for residents who frequent the area.

"We know how frustrating the improvements to the Glenville Corridor have been to drivers and residents in Glenville but there is good news as the project is entering its final phase," Camillo wrote in his weekly newsletter to the community.

Camillo said overnight milling and paving work will begin on June 21 and is expected to be completed over four nights until June 25.

Work will occur overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Camillo said, noting the paving will cover roughly half a mile of roadway, primarily along Glenville Road between Weaver Street and Glen Ridge Road.

Additional work is also planned on portions of Weaver Street, Pemberwick Road, Riversville Road and Glenville Street.

The work schedule is weather-dependent, Camillo said.

During the overnight hours, the roads in the work zone will be closed.

Detours will be posted to help drivers navigate the area, and police officers and other traffic control measures will assist.

The impacted roads will reopen during the day, Camillo said. Drivers are being asked to use extra caution in the area.

Following the paving work, Camillo said "only minor punch list items and final closeout activities will remain."

The major project began in March 2025. Greenwich Department of Public Works has said the project will reduce congestion, improve air quality, and enhance safety for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians traveling along the Glenville corridor.

Upgrades include widened roads, new sidewalks, new traffic signals, realigned crosswalks, and more.
