Greenwich Man Issued Trespass Notice After 'Suspicious Incident' Involving Children, Police Say

GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich man was issued a formal trespass notice on Thursday by Westchester County Police, stemming from a "suspicious incident" involving several children at a park in Mount Kisco, NY, earlier in the week.

Police said the man, who is in his 60s, was the subject of an investigation on July 12.

On that date at approximately 12:13 p.m., officers responded to Leonard Park in Mount Kisco on a report of a verbal altercation between several parents and a man who approached their children and was seen playing baseball with them, police said.

The man was detained for investigation, and those who interacted with him were interviewed.

"No allegations were made that the man attempted to lure any child away from the ball field," police said, noting the man was interviewed in the park on Sunday and again the following day when he voluntarily came to the Mount Kisco precinct at the request of detectives.

After the man returned to the park on Thursday, he was issued a trespass warning, which bars him from returning, police said. The man consented to another interview with detectives.

"While his behavior on Sunday was concerning, there has been no reported conduct on his part that would result in a criminal charge at this time," police said. "He was advised that he will be charged with trespass if he returns to the park again due to the formal trespass warning."
