New Science Program Administrator Appointed At Greenwich High School

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones this week announced the appointment of Aimee Farnum as Greenwich High School’s science program administrator, effective immediately.

Farnum replaces Shawn Hoyt, who was named Central Middle School’s assistant principal earlier this month.

"Ms. Aimee Farnum did a wonderful job as the interim administrator this past year and her clear leadership skills makes this a natural progression for her," Jones said in an announcement.

"She brings a wealth of knowledge to this role, certified in biology, general science, and chemistry. She also has incredible technology skills, which includes data analysis, and there is no doubt that she will continue with Greenwich High School’s unprecedented performance," Jones added. "She cares deeply about our students, and her connection as a certified interscholastic coach was demonstrated this past year as one of our amazing swim coaches."

Farnum has been a highly regarded science teacher at GHS, a position she has held since 2009.

Most recently, she was the school’s interim science program administrator for most of the 2025-2026 school year, where she supervised and evaluated high school science teachers and collaborated with district and school leadership.

She also ensured the science program aligned with Connecticut and Next Generation Science Standards. For the past two summers, Farnum served as the district’s extended school year supervisor.

"Ms. Farnum was amazing filling in for the science program administrator role on an interim basis last school year," GHS Principal Ralph Mayo said. "She is respected by her co-workers as a great educator and special person within the halls of Greenwich High School."

Farnum earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of New England, a master’s in secondary education from the University of Bridgeport, and certificates in advanced graduate study in advanced educational leadership and intermediate administration and supervision (092).
