Greenwich Native Signs With Chicago Cubs Organization

GREENWICH, CT — One of Fairfield County's own has taken the next step in his baseball career after signing an undrafted free agent contract with the Chicago Cubs organization.

Outfielder Harrison Feinberg, a 2021 graduate of King School in Stamford and a Greenwich native, signed with the Cubs on July 24. He was assigned on July 31 to the Arizona Complex League Cubs, a single-A affiliate.

Feinberg capped his Northeastern University career with a strong senior season in 2026, appearing in 60 of 61 games and serving as an everyday starter for the third time in four years.

He slashed .331/.440/.597 with 78 hits, 15 doubles, 16 home runs and 64 RBIs. Feinberg also stole a team-high 42 bases on 48 attempts, setting a single-season program record before teammate Carmelo Musacchia surpassed it.

Feinberg was named First Team All-CAA (Coastal Athletic Association) for the second consecutive year and earned CAA All-Tournament honors, en route to winning a second straight CAA title. Feinberg also set Northeastern's career home run record with 47 and became the 10th player in program history to record 200 career hits with an infield single at UConn on May 12.

His collegiate accolades include 2025 NCBWA First Team All-American, 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-American, 2025 CAA Co-Player of the Year, 2025 CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-Tournament Team, 2025 All-CAA First Team and 2025 All-ECAC honors. He was also named CAA Player of the Week on April 21, 2025.

Before playing at Northeastern, Feinberg played one season at the University of Southern California.

But before his decorated collegiate career, Feinberg was shining on the diamond at King School.

As a three-year varsity letter-winner, Feinberg earned All-League honors as a sophomore and a senior. He was a 2020 preseason All-American and was the No. 6 overall player and No. 2 outfielder in Connecticut.

King School Associate Director of Athletics Thomas Decker has known Feinberg since he first arrived at King as a lower school student. Decker later served as his advisor in the upper school.

"Harrison is a fine young man, a quiet person, but one who leads by example. He worked extremely hard while he was at King, and his presence was felt when you were in the room or on the field with him," Decker told Patch. "He was a tremendous player for King; he was blessed with speed, a powerful bat, and arm. Pitchers feared him when he was at bat, and with his explosive speed, he was always a threat on the basepath."

Decker said he isn't surprised Feinberg has earned an opportunity with the Cubs organization, calling him "one of the best" players he's seen during his 28 years at King School.

"I am so happy for Harrison. Baseball has always been and will always be a part of his identity, and seeing him achieve his goal of playing professionally is a true testament to his years of hard work," Decker noted.

Decker knew Feinberg's talent was different during one particular game at King School in which Feinberg hit a solo home run to deep right-center field that landed in the school's admissions office parking lot.

"It was a blast that you only see from those who have the ability to play at the next level," Decker said. "Looking back on it, I probably said to someone next to me, 'That's what it looks like in the big leagues.'"
