GREENWICH, CT — The Sound Beach Community Band will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Binney Park in Old Greenwich.
The theme of the concert is "Wicked Good: The Music of Stephen Schwartz." The performance will include popular tunes from "Godspell," "Pippin," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "The Prince of Egypt," and "Wicked."
The performance is part of the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Summer Concerts series. Weather postponement or cancellation information will be available by calling 203-861-6100 after 4 p.m.
The Sound Beach Community Band is under the direction of Music Director Zachary Kampler.
The private, nonprofit organization was established in 1955. Membership is open to musicians ranging from talented middle-school level, by audition, through active or retired professional musicians.
