On Wednesday, August 19th, Dr. Inna Lazar, owner of PRO EYECARE (getproeyecare.com), partnered with Building One Community (B1C) and The Center for Immigrant Opportunity to help ensure that vision care is available to those who need it most. Dr. Lazar is also the founder of Eyecare from the Heart (eyecarefromtheheart.org), a charitable initiative with a mission to provide eye care services, screenings, and vision resources to underserved school-aged children.

"Access to quality eye care can make a life-changing difference for a child's education, an adult's ability to work, and a family's overall well-being," said Adira Knopf, Development Director at B1C. Knopf is a patient at PRO EYECARE in Greenwich and invited the practice to support the organization.

Alongside Dr. Lazar's volunteer team, which included PRO EYECARE Eyewear Specialist, Susy Ademoski; Dr. Samantha Aliando, OD; Dr. Valiando Sharon; and Dry Eye Patient Care Coordinator, Raquel Castellanos, PRO EYECARE provided more than 20 free on-site vision screenings at Building One Community in Stamford. Patients were encouraged to participate through advance registration through Building One Community, with screenings designed to identify vision concerns and connect participants with the care they need.

"Everyone deserves the opportunity to see clearly, regardless of financial circumstances. We're grateful to partner with Building One Community to bring these services directly to families in Stamford and help make quality eye care more accessible," said Dr. Lazar.

Since its inception, her non-profit organization, Eyecare from the Heart, has been dedicated to that mission: removing barriers. Through community partnerships and volunteer outreach, Eyecare from the Heart provides eye exams, screenings, education, and resources to people who might otherwise go without vision care.

Building One Community serves thousands of immigrant families throughout Fairfield County by providing educational opportunities, workforce development, family support services, and access to critical resources. For many participants, regular vision care remains difficult to obtain due to limited insurance coverage, transportation challenges, time away from work, and the cost of care.

By bringing screenings directly into the community, the partnership created a welcoming and accessible environment for families. "We are deeply grateful to Dr. Lazar and the PRO EYECARE team for their generosity and commitment to our community", said Marissa Muñoz, Executive Director at B1C. She continued, "Access to vision care can be truly life-changing, allowing our participants to work, learn, and care for their families with greater confidence and independence. By bringing these services directly to our community, they are helping remove barriers that too often prevent families from getting the care they need. We are excited to continue growing this partnership and expanding its impact for years to come."

Known throughout Fairfield County for her commitment to both patient care and community service, Dr. Lazar has built PRO EYECARE into more than an eye care practice. She is an active supporter of local nonprofits, schools, small businesses, and women entrepreneurs, regularly partnering with organizations that strengthen the community while promoting better health and wellness.

This collaboration represents another step in her ongoing mission to ensure that quality vision care is accessible to everyone.
