International Coastal Cleanup Event To Be Held At Greenwich Point

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Green & Clean will host an International Coastal Cleanup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Greenwich Point Park.

Participants of all ages are invited to remove harmful, non-biodegradable trash from the Long Island Sound shoreline. The collected trash will be tallied and reported to Save the Sound, which will send the data to the Ocean Conservancy as part of an international collaborative effort to analyze and address water pollution.

Advance registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Participants can check in at tables in the parking lot across from the first concession stand. A beach pass is not required for those taking part in the cleanup.

Gloves and buckets will be provided, but participants may bring their own. Community service certificates will be available.
