Greenwich Health Department Announces 2026 Flu, Pneumonia And COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Department of Health will hold several flu, pneumonia and COVID-19 vaccination clinics in October.

Flu vaccines will be available to people age 9 and older, while COVID-19 vaccines will be available to those age 12 and older. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The clinic schedule is:

Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cohen Eastern Greenwich Civic Center, 90 Harding Road in Old Greenwich. The clinic will be held in partnership with the Wallace Center.
Thursday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the ground floor of Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Road.
Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. on the ground floor of Greenwich Town Hall.
Thursday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the ground floor of Greenwich Town Hall.
Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the ground floor of Greenwich Town Hall.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the ground floor of Greenwich Town Hall.

"Getting your annual flu vaccine is the best, most effective thing you can do to keep from getting the flu, and from spreading it to others," Director of Health Caroline C. Baisley said in a news release.

"Immune systems routinely decline with age and chronic conditions can make a person more vulnerable. Adults age 65 and older are at greater risk of severe complication from influenza," Baisley added. "COVID-19 vaccination is also important, especially for seniors and those with other risk factors. Adults 65 and older should get vaccinated this fall and then with a second dose six months later, as immunity wears over time."

Accepted insurance plans include Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, traditional Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage plans and UnitedHealthcare/Oxford. The department cannot accept Aetna, MagnaCare, ConnectiCare or Medicaid. Medicaid patients are advised to call 203-622-3782 for assistance.

For people without insurance or whose insurance cannot be accepted, the seasonal flu vaccine costs $35. The high-dose vaccine for people age 65 and older costs $69. The pneumonia vaccine, PCV21, costs $295, and the Moderna mNEXSPIKE COVID-19 vaccine costs $205.

Attendees should bring their insurance cards and wear short sleeves. Those paying without insurance may use cash or checks made payable to the Town of Greenwich. Credit cards will not be accepted.

Attendees are asked to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before a clinic begins. The public is encouraged to call the flu line at 203-622-3774 before attending. Any schedule changes will be recorded and publicized to the best of the department's ability.

The Wallace Center will have program information available for seniors.
