GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Alliance for Education (GAE) will hold its 20th Anniversary Business Roundtable on Oct. 16, bringing together business leaders, philanthropists and other stakeholders for a discussion on philanthropy in public education.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Milbrook Club.
The roundtable will provide an opportunity for the community to support the alliance's educational initiatives, which are intended to help Greenwich Public Schools students succeed in the classroom and beyond.
The Greenwich Alliance for Education is the education foundation of GPS. It works to provide STEM enrichment, performing arts opportunities, academic mentoring and support, and access to shared experiences outside the classroom for all district students.
The event reflects the alliance's efforts to build partnerships that expand educational opportunities and provide funding for continued innovation.
"Because of our decades-long commitment to innovation and opportunity, students in our public schools are the beneficiaries of programs and resources that help them reach their full potential and set them up for success," said GAE Executive Director Julie Faryniarz.
Emmy Award-winning journalist, author and GPS parent Jeff Glor will moderate the discussion.
Panelists will include Jon Ledecky, a Greenwich High School graduate and co-owner of the New York Islanders; Nicole Mitchell, executive director of SpidaCares and a 2022 Greenwich YWCA Women Who Inspire honoree; and Lucy Ball, executive director of the Lone Pine Foundation, which has committed more than $100 million in grants to area nonprofits.
