Father Holding Baby Assaulted on Train to Woolwich

Father clutching infant targeted in sudden assault on south-east London train as family members try to intervene

British Transport Police are appealing for information after a man carrying his baby was attacked on a train heading towards Woolwich.The incident took place on 5 September at around 5:30pm on a service travelling between Maze Hill and Woolwich Arsenal. The victim was seated with his family when the assailant struck. Other relatives stepped in to help and were themselves assaulted during the confrontation.The attacker left the train at Woolwich Arsenal station.Anyone who recognises the man involved or has information about the incident is asked to contact British Transport Police. You can text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 581 of 5 September. Information can also be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
