GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich compound with two homes - one of which was designed by an iconic architect/interior designer- has been listed for sale at $4.5 million.
The property at 18 Dwight Lane features a modernist residence designed by Warren Platner, an architect, interior designer and furniture designer known for his Knoll furniture and work at the Ford Foundation headquarters in New York City.
Platner was also the original designer of the Windows on the World restaurant atop the World Trade Center's North Tower.
Platner died in New Haven in 2006 at the age of 86.
"Walls of windows fill the original brick home with natural light, falling across hardwood and Italian porcelain floors, an elegant kitchen, and a marble-and-onyx primary bath with soaking tub and cedar sauna," the listing from Claudia Smeriglio of Brown Harris Stevens says. The home was built in 1969.
A separate home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms features a Bianco Oro marble bath and glass-railed decks, the listing says.
There is a heated pool, pool bar, cabana and gazebos with expansive decks and bluestone terraces, according to the listing.
