Adolfo Garcia, Inspiring Family Cook of Greenwich

Adolfo Garcia died suddenly in his sleep on Easter morning. He was 49.

Mr. Garcia, originally from Quitupan, Mexico, moved to the United States as a young man, first living in Chicago and later moving to Westchester County, NY. He married Helen Larsen in 1989, moved to Greenwich, CT, and had a successful career for many years at the Fenway Golf Club in Scarsdale. Since then, he worked in many area restaurants including the Greenwich Field Club and the Horseneck Tavern in Greenwich. At home, he thrilled many palats with his amazing cooking talents and loved making delicious food for friends and family. He had an uncanny ability to taste something once and then be able to not only replicate it in his kitchen, but improve upon it. Adolfo was a kind and generous soul and will be missed dearly by family and friends here and in Mexico.

A Memorial Service is planned to be held at the First United Methodist Church, 59 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich, CT, on April 27, 2013, at 12:00 p.m.
