Belle Haven sale the biggest in years

The recent sale of a $ 39,500,000 estate, boasts 340 feet of frontage on the Long Island sound in the private Field Point Park community, in a mere 258 days “further cements the confidence in the high-end luxury real estate market in Greenwich”, said Joe Valvano, sales manager of Coldwell Banker Greenwich offices.

The 4.6 acre estate was sold as two parcels including with 20,000 plus square foot home, complete with 6 bedrooms, 9 full and 7 half baths, with both an indoor and outdoor pool.

Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker Previews International Real Estate, secured the buyer of the mansion formerly owned by Norman and Suzanne Hascoe, which was listed as owned by Joel Kaye, a local attorney. This is exactly what I had made mention to in my last article about Leona Helmsley’s home that states Cyd Smith, esquire, is owner.  This is a very common means of providing confidentiality to many homeowners in our town.

The assessment on the property is $20,516,510 and the taxes are $176,359. The most interesting feature of this unique home is the historic bridge that replicates the Brooklyn Bridge.

Another indication that the market is back, is the confirmation that Regis and Joy Philbin have relisted a second home that they own in Greenwich. Clearly, the attempt in 2008 for $5,900,000 was real bad timing with the economic recession, hence, they withdrew for a while.  There newly adjusted list price is $3,800,000 for 6 acres with a heated pool! I will keep you posted on the status of THIS house!
