Con Edison Engineer From Greenwich Wins National Award

NEW YORK - A Con Edison engineer from Greenwich, Conn. has won a prestigious industry award for his research into electric transmission reliability and efficiency.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) named Amadou Salla Diop a winner of its Technology Transfer Award. Diop worked on his project with experts from EPRI, a national energy research organization.

Diop, an engineer in Transmission Planning, used new methods to forecast a comprehensive profile of electric load at area substations for up to 24 hours in advance. The company can use this information in studies to evaluate and improve reliability.
