Applications Open For 2026 Greenwich Police Citizens' Police Academy
Participants will get a firsthand look at operations and the responsibilities of the Greenwich Police Department.
GREENWICH, CT — Applications are now open for the 2026 Greenwich Police Citizens' Police Academy.
The nine-week program is set to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Residents and those who work in Greenwich will get a firsthand look at operations and the responsibilities of the Greenwich Police Department.
The class will meet every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be one Thursday class on Oct. 15. The program will conclude with graduation on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Participants will learn about patrol operations, criminal investigations, crime scene forensics, DUI enforcement, use of force and de-escalation, crime prevention, and more.
There will also be an opportunity for a police ride-along and marine instruction with the GPD Marine Patrol.

The academy is free and open to individuals aged 18 or older who live or work in Greenwich. Space is limited
The application deadline is Sept. 17.
