Back To School: Greenwich 2026-27 School Calendar

GREENWICH, CT — Summer is starting to wind down as the first day of school in Greenwich is quickly approaching.

Students will return to the classroom in Greenwich on Friday, Aug. 28.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Darien Public Schools

• First Day: Aug. 28
• Labor Day: Sept. 7, Schools Closed
• Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 11, Schools Open
• Yom Kippur: Sept. 21, Schools Closed
• Columbus Day: Oct. 12, Schools Open
• Teacher Collaboration Day: Oct. 20, Early Release
• Election Day: Nov. 3, Schools Closed
• Veterans Day: Nov. 11, Schools Open
• Thanksgiving Recess: Nov. 25-27
• Professional Learning Day/K-8 Conferences: Dec. 7, Schools Closed
• K-8 Conferences: Dec. 8, Early Release
• Early Release: Dec. 22
• Holiday Recess: Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, 2027. Classes resume Monday, Jan. 4.
• MLK Jr. Day: Jan. 18, Schools Closed
• Winter Recess: Feb. 8 through Feb. 12.
• Presidents' Day: Feb. 15, Schools Closed
