Bergstein Thanks Voters For Upset Victory

The Democrat defeated Republican incumbent L. Scott Frantz on Tuesday for the state's 36th Senatorial District seat.

Alexandra "Alex" Bergstein, the Democrat who defeated incumbent Republican L. Scott Frantz for the state's 36th Senatorial District post, issued the following statement Wednesday thanking voters for their support:

Thank you Stamford, New Canaan and Greenwich! I am humbled and honored to serve as your new State Senator for the 36th District.

No one thought this was possible. But we did it! For six months, we reached out to every voter in the district to create an informed and engaged electorate. In every conversation, we spoke about a positive plan for Connecticut. With clarity and concrete details. No platitudes. No negativity.
