Blood Drive Upcoming In Greenwich: Details

Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis, according to event materials.

GREENWICH, CT — A community blood drive is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2, at Greenwich Reform Synagogue in Cos Cob.

The drive will run from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the synagogue, located at 92 Orchard St., and will be conducted in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis, according to event materials.

Donors can make appointments online, or by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS.

First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his weeklynewsletter to the community last week that the drive is being organized by Greenwich resident Gary Silberberg.

"Gary tells me that in recent months blood donorship has gone way down in the Greenwich region. There is a huge need for blood and each unit donated can save three lives potentially," Camillo wrote. "This is so important and your donation can help someone at their time of need so please consider signing up if you can."
