Breakfast, Lunch Pick Up Locations Offered For Greenwich Students

GREENWICH, CT — While schools in Greenwich will be closed for at least the remainder of March as the state, and the nation, grapples with the new coronavirus, students of Greenwich public schools will still be able to receive breakfast and lunch during the school week. Beginning Monday, the district will send a small yellow school bus to 12 locations in town where students and families can pick up their food.

Both meals will be delivered at the same time, district officials said in a message sent to families. The bus will remain at the drop-off location for approximately 20 minutes, so school officials advise anyone picking up food to be at the location five minutes prior to the scheduled stop.

Anyone picking up food will be asked to identify themselves so their name can be checked off the list for the day. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

These are the pick up locations, according to the district:

Route 1:

• 10:45 a.m. - Central Middle School Front Circle
• 11:15 a.m. - Julian Curtiss School Front Circle
• 11:40 a.m. - Wilbur Peck front parking lot
• 12:05 p.m. - Town Hall (by deliveries - main visitor lot)

Route 2:

• 11 a.m. Glenville Elementary School Front Circle
• 11:30 a.m. - Hamilton Avenue, Parking Lot
• 12 p.m. - Armstrong Court (in front of the handicapped parking spaces)
• 12:30 p.m. - New Lebanon School, Parking Lot
• 12:55 p.m. - Western Middle School, Front Circle

Route 3

• 11 a.m. - Eastern Middle School, Front Parking Lot
• 11:25 a.m. - Adams Garden (In front of the Community Building)

Here is the tentative menu for the week of March 16, according to the district:

Breakfast Bag Menu

• Mon: Special K Cereal w/ WG Graham Cracker; Banana & Orange Juice
• Tues: Raisin Bran w/ ZeeZee Bar; Orange and Apple Juice
• Wed: Corn Flakes w/ WG Grahams; Banana & Orange Juice
• Thur: Cheerios w/ ZeeZee Bar; Raisins and Apple Juice
• Fri: Asst Cereals w/ WG Grahams; Banana and Orange Juice
• Note: Spork Packet in each bag

Lunch Bag Menu

• Mon: Ham & Cheese / Hard Roll; Cherry Tomatoes; Fresh Grapes; & Juice
• Tues: Turkey w/ Lettuce on Hard Roll; Cucumber Wheels; Cantaloupe Cubes & Juice
• Wed: Chicken w/ Romaine on Hard Roll; Baby Carrots; Cortland Apple; & Juice
• Thur: Ham & Cheese on Hard Roll; Celery Sticks; Tangerine & Juice
• Fri: Turkey w/ Romaine/ Hard Roll; Corn Niblets; Granny Smith Apple; & Juice.
• Note: Spork packet in each bag plus condiment for sandwiches.
