Fatal Greenwich Hit-and-Run Victim Identified

Police have seized the suspected offending vehicle and the hit-and-run operator has been tentatively identified.

GREENWICH, CT- Police have identified the victim of Sunday's fatal hit-and-run accident as Edward Setterberg, 43, of Cos Cob.

The suspected offending vehicle was seized by police Monday night. Police got a search warrant from court after the vehicle was found within Greenwich Police jurisdiction, said Lt. Kraig Gray, police spokesman.

The vehicle will undergo forensic analysis.

"Investigators continue to follow all leads however we have tentatively identified the hit and run operator," he said.

Setterberg was struck around 11 p.m. on East Putnam Avenue near Hillside Road, according to police. He was found in the roadway by an off-duty Greenwich officer.

The offending vehicle fled the scene. It was suspected to be a 2006 or later Mercedes Benz M Class.
