Brunswick Finishes In Top 5 of National High School Lax Rankings

Brunswick, Ridgefield, Darien and New Canaan all made the final 2018 national high school lacrosse rankings.

Three Connecticut teams on the boys side and two on the girls side representing four schools made the final Nike/US Lacrosse High School Top 25, the national governing body announced in its latest publication.

The Brunswick School of Greenwich was ranked the No. 5 boys team nationally. The Bruins finished the 2018 spring campaign with a 16-1 record.

Culver Academy of Indiana was the top-ranked team nationally at 25-2 with its only losses coming to Ontario powerhouse Hill Academy. Calvert Hill (MD, 16-3), Ward Melville (NY, 21-1), and Boys Latin (MD, 14-4), finished the top four.

Ridgefield High School, by virtue of upsetting previous top-ranked Darien in the state Class L title game, was ranked No. 13. The Tigers were 16-5.

Darien was ranked 14th at 22-1.

New Canaan and Darien were ranked No.13 and No. 14, respectively in the final girls Top 25. New Canaan finished the season with a 17-5 record and Darien was 19-3.
