CT Weather: 'Brutal' Heat, Humidity Arrives On Labor Day

The weather on Saturday was wonderful and the continued good weather lasts through today before there is a small chance for showers and thunderstorms on Labor Day morning. But the biggest change will be the heat and humidity, which will significantly increase later today and hang around for much of next week.

The National Weather Service says, "High pressure over the area today will shift offshore tonight into Monday. With that, a more persistent south to southwest flow will develop and continue into much of this week, bringing in another round of heat and humidity. The heat looks to peak around the mid week period. Dry conditions are expected most of the time. However, weak disturbances passing across may cause some isolated showers or thunderstorms from time to time."

The chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm is for when we are sleeping tonight. So if you have outdoors plans either later today or on Monday you should be fine, except for the heat and humidity.

The National Weather Service says "Heat Advisories may be needed at times for portions of southern New England next week, mainly Monday and Tuesday."
