Burglar Spotted In Greenwich Home, Police Investigating: PD

Police said they are investigating an attempted burglary in Greenwich after a resident reported seeing an intruder in their home.

GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating an attempted burglary in Greenwich after a resident reported seeing an intruder in their home Wednesday night. According to Lt. Mark Zuccerella, the incident was reported by a homeowner on Weaver Street around 8:30 p.m.

Zuccerella said the resident was home at the time of the attempted burglary and saw the intruder in her house. The burglar fled from the residence after seeing the homeowner and did not make contact with them, Zuccerella said.

Officers responded to the residence but were unable to locate the intruder, Zuccerella said. A K-9 unit from the Stamford Police Department also assisted in the attempt to locate the suspect, Zuccerella said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The homeowner described the suspect as a man in his twenties with short "dread-style hair," possibly dyed red on the tips. He was wearing "combat boots" and ripped jeans, according to the homeowner's report.
