Byram Shubert Library Closed Due To Flooding From Sprinklers
A malfunctioning sprinkler system flooded the library's first floor on Sunday, according to the Greenwich Time.
GREENWICH, CT — The Byram Shubert Library is temporarily closed due to a malfunctioning sprinkler system which flooded the first floor of the building on Sunday, according to the Greenwich Time.
Greenwich Time reported that there was damage to the electrical systems and carpeting at the library. There was no damage to library materials.
"The carpeting in sections of the first level were soaked, but the water was successfully extracted by our facilities team and vendors,” said Greenwich Library Director Barbara Ormerod-Glynn. "More significantly, water entered into electrical conduits through floor outlets. This damaged some of our electrical wiring, which is why the branch had to close."
