
Event Details
UConn Health (Farmington, CT campus) is seeking participants residing in Connecticut for an in person or online alcohol and/or substance use treatment program for ages 14-21 years old, including marijuana, which can range from occasional use to chronic use.
Individuals may be eligible if they:
- Are ages 14-21 years old
- Ability to speak and read English (parents/guardians don't need to be fluent)
- Residing in Connecticut for the 10 weeks of therapy
- Alcohol and/or substance use, including marijuana, ranging from occasional use to chronic use
- Are not currently receiving direct treatment for alcohol/drug use only; Mental Health therapy is fine.
Are able to attend the following free appointments in person or online:
- 2 free CBT-MET individual sessions prior to:
- 8 free weekly, CBT-MET group therapy sessions
- Research Intake and Follow-up assessments/questionnaires at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months
Study eligibility will be decided through a 15-minute telephone screener.
Please note: No Health Insurance Needed, No Cost for Treatment
- Compensation is up to $250 gift cards for all completed research appointments
- All 10 sessions of confidential treatment are facilitated by 2 LCSWs with several years of experience
- No study drugs/medications are involved; no blood samples or medical assessments required
- Treatment may begin within 1-2 weeks after the first call/phone screen (about 15 minutes)
