
The Greenwich Historical Society and the Town of Greenwich will be celebrating America’s 250th birthday in style with an all-day extravaganza in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, hosting the town’s signature America’s 250th celebration, “Sunday in the Park with George,” on Sunday, June 28. This free town-wide celebration will feature tours of the historic Dutch tall ship Oosterschelde, appearances by reenactors portraying George and Martha Washington, Benjamin and Deborah Franklin, Benedict Arnold and John André, live music, a salute to veterans, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem, a Revolutionary War encampment reenactment, and live demonstrations including printing press, yarn spinning and blacksmithing. This all day event that is fun for all ages and will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Registration is encouraged to board the tall ship Oosterschelde, which will be docked at the Delamar.
