Annual event put on by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Greenwich modeled after celebrity dance-off show supports Abilis and sells out every year!
Cue the music, polish the Mirrorball and get ready to dance for a difference! The 8th annual Dancing Stars of Greenwich charity gala presented by Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Greenwich, will take center stage and twirl into Greenwich, Connecticut, on Saturday, September 19. The event brings together local stars, professional dancers and celebrity judges for an unforgettable evening benefiting Abilis, the nonprofit organization that provides services and support to more than 800 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Presented by Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Greenwich, Dancing Stars of Greenwich brings the sparkle and spectacle of the hit television show “Dancing with the Stars” to Fairfield County. The gala features a VIP cocktail hour, live entertainment, a silent auction, seated dinner and, of course, show-stopping ballroom performances by local luminaries and their professional dance partners. Professional and champion dancer, Tony Dovolani, co-national dance director for Fred Astaire Dance Studios, will serve as the evening’s emcee. The celebrity judging panel includes former New York Knicks star Allan Houston; celebrity fitness expert, dancer and choreographer Billy Blanks Jr.; internationally recognized dance instructor and choreographer Justin Neto; and Tina Ferora. Dancing Stars of Greenwich is one of the community’s favorite events of the year and the star-studded event always sells out. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to reserve tickets as soon as possible by calling 203-340-2760.
