Camillo, State Dignitaries To Join Greenwich Communities' 'Welcome Home' Ceremony

The event will recognize families who have recently moved into newly modernized residences at Armstrong Court.

GREENWICH, CT — First Selectman Fred Camillo and local and state elected officials are scheduled to join residents at Armstrong Court on Saturday, Feb. 21, for a public "Welcome Home" key presentation ceremony hosted by Greenwich Communities.

The event is set for 10 a.m. in the Winston A. Robinson Community Room at Armstrong Court and will recognize families who have recently moved into newly modernized residences at the property. A light breakfast and drinks will be served, and the event is open to the public.

According to Greenwich Communities, formerly known as the Greenwich Housing Authority, the ceremony marks a milestone following extensive renovations at Armstrong Court aimed at providing updated, energy-efficient living spaces.

"We are thrilled to have First Selectman Camillo, and our state representatives join us for this special occasion," said CEO of Greenwich Communities Anthony Johnson, in a news release. "Their support is a testament to the fact that when we provide quality housing, we are strengthening the entire town. It is a proud day for our residents and our leadership team."

Board of Commissioners Chairman Sam Romeo said in a news release the event is meant to highlight the significance of new housing opportunities for residents.

"Handing over keys to a new home is a life-changing moment for our residents," Romeo said. "Having our town’s leadership there to witness it shows these families that they are a valued and vital part of the fabric of Greenwich."

The ceremony will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
