Cannibalism Caricature Offends at Greenwich Fair

GREENWICH, CT—A caricature of a black man with very large lips in a jungle trying to cook a white man was spotted on a roller coaster ride at the Sam Bridge Nursery Reindeer Festival this past week.

Lauren Lodato said she spotted the image while scrolling through pictures she took at the event, according to the Greenwich Time. Another person also told the paper they found the image stereotypically offensive.

The event is put together by TMK Sports and Entertainment LLC. TMK met with Sam Bridge representatives and both decided not to take the ride down after the complaint.

The ride belongs to Marenna Amusements and owner George Marenna Jr. said the ride has been used for years without complaints.
