Police said a man stole a car with a child still inside on Thursday in Old Greenwich. The car was found nearby, and the child was unharmed.

GREENWICH, CT — A car was stolen from Old Greenwich on Thursday afternoon with a child under the age of 13 still inside, according to the Greenwich Police Department.

Capt. Mark Zuccerella of the GPD said a BMW was taken from 1340 E. Putnam Ave., at approximately 3:30 p.m., which prompted several police units to flood the area.

The car was found nearby in front of the Hyatt Regency Greenwich hotel, Zuccerella said. The child was in the car unharmed, and reunited with their parent.
