Cement Mixer Crashes Into Car In Front Of Greenwich Pharmacy

Police said the vehicles knocked over both a parking meter and a small tree in the process.

GREENWICH, CT — A cement mixer crashed into a parked car and nearly hit a nearby building Thursday on Greenwich Avenue. Lieutenant John Slusarz said the mixer was pouring concrete at a nearby construction site when it lurched forward and crossed the road, smashing into a car parked in front of the Greenwich Pharmacy.

The mixer pushed the car onto the sidewalk, knocking both a parking meter and a small tree, Slusarz said. The car came to a stop just before hitting the building.

"Nobody was injured," Slusarz said. "The sidewalk along the western side of Greenwich Avenue and the right lane [of the road] in the area were closed for about an hour as the vehicles and debris were removed."
