Chopt Creative Salad Company Comes To Greenwich
Grand Opening of Chopt Salad Company in Greenwich.
Chopt Creative Salad Company, a farm-to-fast food restaurant based in New York City, held its grand opening on in Greenwich, Connecticut.
With roots in reinventing the classic salad in 2001 and spurring the rise of salad in New York City and Washington, DC, the original salad specialists celebrated the opening of their first Connecticut restaurant with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday. First Selectman Peter Tesei, Marcia O’Kane (Chamber of Commerce) and several Connecticut elected officials were in attendance, along with Chopt founders Tony Shure and Colin McCabe and CEO Nick Marsh.
“Our restaurant in Greenwich is the product of all of the lessons we’ve learned over the past 14 years,” says Shure. “We’ve taken feedback from our restaurants and applied it to an all-new, redesigned Chopt. We’ve improved, simplified and beautified the Chopt experience, and made it more convenient to grab a salad or snack and more comfortable to come enjoy a meal with your family. What has stayed the same is our commitment to the creativity of our salad combinations and dressings inspired by flavors from around the world.”
Helping Kids Eat Better
Born from its founders’ mission to revolutionize fast food, Chopt is committed to helping Americans eat better beyond its restaurant walls and creating universal access to better food for children in particular.
Chopt kicked off its community participation in Greenwich at a pre-opening “Chopt Gives Day” event, partnering with local charity Kids 4 Kids, a group of Greenwich middle and high schoolers raising money for the Rockin Appalachian Mom Project (RAMP)’s program to feed hungry children in Appalachia. With Chopt offering its entire menu for free, customers made donations at the register, raising over $3,000 in 6 hours.
“We were so impressed by the outpouring of support from the Greenwich community, embracing Chopt and rallying around this cause,” says McCabe. “We look forward to being active participants in such a philanthropic and wellness-minded community.”
