EAST HARTFORD, CT — A Cos Cob woman suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon in a four-vehicle, chain reaction crash on Route 5/15 southbound in East Hartford, said Connecticut State Police.

Kathryn K. Guimard, 67, was driving her 2017 Toyota Camry at about 2:15 p.m. near exit 90 when her car was rear-ended by a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Glastonbury resident Thomas Napolitano, 33, according to state police.

"The impact from [Napolitano's vehicle] pushed [Guimard's vehicle] forward, striking the rear end of Veh #2 being operated by Ambrocio Baeznunez," wrote state police in a release.

Baeznunez, 45, of Wappingers Falls, NY, was driving a 2006 Honda Odyssey, and that vehicle then sideswiped the rear passenger side of a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Benjamin Herbert, 52, of Huntington, NY.
