Connecticut will see it all today and some parts of the state could receive a few inches of snow tonight too.

Connecticut is looking at some crazy weather today and tonight. Rain showers will turn to heavy snow in portions of the state tonight for a brief period of time, which could lead to a few inches of accumulation in certain areas, mainly northern parts of the state.

Temps will drop quickly tonight across the state and the wind will significantly pick up and gusts are possible in excess of 40 mph tonight and Saturday. Saturday will feel like a wintry day with temps hovering in the 40s but the wind will make it feel much colder.

There are also minor coastal flooding concerns today too for parts of the state.

Southern Connecticut: There will still be the chance of showers throughout the day as the storm intensifies as it moves away. The winds will increase later today into tonight as the storm to our
north strengthens, with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph across the region by later tonight.

Any leftover rain showers will end tonight, with the rain showers ending as some snow showers across northern sections. Windy and turning colder tonight with lows mainly in the lower to middle 30s, with wind chills dropping into the lower 20s.

It will be windy, dry, and cool on Saturday as temperatures average slightly below normal. Highs will be in the upper 40s to around 50 on a gusty northwest wind. The winds will diminish
somewhat for Saturday night into Sunday as high pressure approaches from the west, with the dry weather lasting through the weekend.

Litchfield County: Snow will change back to rain by this afternoon. Rain will then change to all snow again tonight before ending by early Saturday. Additional light accumulations of a few inches are possible, especially across grassy and non paved surfaces. Locally slippery traveling and walking conditions may occur. Also, strong west to northwest winds will be possible tonight into Saturday. If confidence increases for frequent wind gusts in excess of 45 mph, then a wind advisory will be needed.

Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties: Brief heavy snow showers are possible Friday night with some localized minor accumulations. Strong winds with gusts 35-45 mph with a few gusts near 50 mph are possible late tonight into Saturday. Wind Advisories may be needed. A total of 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible in certain spots here.
